Marlet Site Engineer selected as a role model in construction in Ireland by CIF
RELATED PROJECTS
We are very proud of our Site Engineer, Glorence Makharinge, for being part of the CIF campaign’s ‘We are Construction’ celebrating role models in construction for International Women’s Day.
By taking part in this campaign, Glorence hopes to inspire more women to work in the industry, where only 8% are women. Her recognition within the industry saw her, and fellow female engineers celebrated on billboards around Dublin’s rail stations, for a week.
Glorence is currently a key member of the team working on College Square, our biggest development, which will be the largest mixed use and first of its kind scheme in Dublin city centre, featuring a residential tower built over commercial space, in a high profile corner site of Tara Street, Poolbeg Street & Townsend Street.
In an interview for the CIF, Glorence said: “I am motivated by the thrill of leaving a legacy in my work. That is, working on an infrastructure project and years later look back and knowing that I have made a mark.
I have leveraged a lot from my skill set, my previous work experience and my recent pursuit of an MBA which is equipping me with the relevant skill to become an industry leader in construction – this is why I encourage more women to pursue careers in the construction sector because we are capable. The time is now!”
