Walls Construction appointed main contractor for Grand Canal Harbour

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Walls Construction as the main contractor for Grand Canal Harbour in Dublin 8.

Located beside the Guinness Storehouse, at the original terminus of the Grand Canal, this development will feature 596 apartments, 76,000 sqft (7,000 sqm) of retail, medical, co-working and childcare space and 18,000 sq ft (1,700 sqm) of amenity space.

A vital addition to the gradual renaissance and urbanisation of Dublin 8, Grand Canal Harbour will be fully pedestrianised, with 54% of the site dedicated to public space, including a large and flexible public plaza, which will be available for open air markets and events.

Residents will benefit from large landscaped areas, including roof terraces, which have been designed to enhance biodiversity and provide a green oasis in the heart of the city, with semi-open winter gardens, to facilitate all year round and all-weather use.

The curved harbour warehouse are to be fully restored and refurbished and will become a central feature of the development.

Grand Canal Harbour design will reflect our ESG engagement and commitment to sustainable and green construction practices, with the aim of achieving HPI certification once completed.

Having recently completed site works, construction work has commenced on all apartment blocks, with a phased completion date set for Q3 2023 to Q1 2024.
