10th April 2020 – Marlet’s exciting plans to provide over 500 homes at a long-neglected site in Howth have won through the planning process.
This seaside location, facing Claremont beach, will be reborn as a state-of-the-art, bright, spacious development of 512 apartments, making the most of sea views, glistening light, and the enviable location close to Howth town.
Situated just to the west of Howth harbour, between Howth Road and Claremont beach, the homes will be built in blocks of up to eight storeys with associated amenities and 33% public space greatly enhancing the character and destination appeal of the area.
Our plans for the site include a maritime civic plaza, ample walkways and cycleways, a communal park and gardens which will continue to Baltray Park, and ground-level shops, restaurant, and café all ensuring an animated atmosphere throughout the development.
In its decision, An Bord Pleanála acknowledged that the scheme would respect and enhance the historic and architectural character of the area, support the commercial role of Howth’s town centre and help to ramp up delivery of housing.
