Health & Safety Advisor


We are currently recruiting for a Health & Safety Advisor to be based at our head office in Dublin 2, and directly reporting to the Health & Safety Manager.


Ideal candidates will have relevant NEBOSH Health and Safety Qualifications for the Construction Industry
Min. 5 years experience working with a main building contractor (PSCS) / consultancy or developer on large scale projects (€250K – €100M)

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure company adheres to all relevant legislation and best practice by preparing and implementing processes and procedures
  • Provide relevant training to internal team on all facets of Health and Safety
  • Work as part of a team focusing on H&S across several projects
  • Ensure clear lines of communication are maintained to the H&S Manager and our appointed PSDP
  • Seek to improve H&S standards in a practical manner with our appointed PSDP & PSCS
  • Ensure hazards are recorded and addressed by the PSCS in the CSP and in practice
  • Attend PSCS H&S site meetings ensuring hazards are discussed, recorded and addressed
  • Ensure developed CSP and statutory records are being maintained as projects progress
  • Ensure the PSCS works are being carried out in adherence to H&S Legislation and Regulations
  • Advise and assist the PSCS in compliance with statutory H&S requirements
  • Investigate and report all accidents, dangerous occurrences, incidents and near misses
  • Prepare/develop and implement construction health & safety plans for in house PSCS projects
  • Prepare, present and record Toolbox Talk topics for in house PSCS projects
  • Identify personnel training requirements
  • Undertake H&S audits identifying and addressing non-conformance
  • Prepare and issue weekly project reports identifying PSCS compliances & non-compliances

Experience and Qualifications

  • NEBOSH Health and Safety Certification
  • Member of IOSH or IIRSM preferred but not essential
  • Experience in managing the PSCS role in construction projects preferred
  • Able to manage site Health and Safety using own initiative within the management system
  • Strong relationship builder across the full spectrum of project stakeholders and statutory bodies
  • Ability to identify risks, advise on and implement relevant control measures
  • Able to work with and influence the PSCS and contractors from various backgrounds/trades
  • Able to chair/deliver health and safety meetings/presentations
  • Engaging, personable and a proven influencer
  • Confident communicator, both written and verbally.
